Matt took Erika fishing this morning. I was a little jealous that I didn't get to go on her first fishing trip, but I'm so glad she got to spend the day with her daddy all by herself! I didn't get a whole lot of facts from Erika about the trip. The only thing she reported on was that she saw a ladybug in Daddy's truck and there was a squirrel in the road that Daddy had to slow down for. So, nothing about fishing. Probably her favorite part of the trip was the fact that she got to go in Daddy's truck....a rare treat! Matt informed me that Erika liked fishing okay, but she was not happy that they didn't catch anything.....a true fisherman! However, she did get to play in the water and the small sandy/dirt bank that they fished on. I'm glad we finally introduced Erika to the joys of fishing!

Playing in the water.

Fishing is fun because you get dirty!

Um, adorable in her rubber boats!

She really enjoys reeling in the line. And, she's pretty good at it!

Our little fisherwoman!
*On a side note: Laurel and I were able to spend the morning together, which is a lot of fun! I feel bad sometimes that Laurel doesn't get much one-on-one time with Matt or I, so this was a really fun opportunity! We went shopping for their Halloween costumes and to the grocery store. Then, she got to play in the front yard and with all her toys by herself without having to share! I think that might have been the highlight of her day!

What a fun memory with her daddy! And I LOVE those red boots!
I've been thinking about how much Lily would like fishing recently. Maybe next summer we'll have to show her the ropes.
