Earlier this week, Erika's school hosted a family math night. Since Matt had a meeting that evening, I dragged Sarah with me and the kids to go play some math games. George Fox University, which is here in Newberg, hosted with education students in charge of the math games for the kids. It was a lot of fun! I was really impressed with how quickly the Fox students adapted the lesson they were teaching to the kids' age understanding. It was designed for K-2nd graders, but they did great involving Levi and Laurel as well! All the kids had a great time...especially playing Bingo with fruit snacks!
The highlight of the evening was probably wearing the head lamp while walking to school.
Levi thrilled with being at math night. Ironically, his daddy has the same attitude toward math as Levi is demonstrating in this photo!
The kids helped make patterns on this felt board. Clearly, Levi is still puzzled.
And the played a counting duck duck goose game. There was also Simon Math Says, Red Light Green Light, Bingo and an adding game with frogs. What a great way to get the kids excited about math!
