Fun Run and Pumpkins

Erika and Laurel participated in their school's fun run on Friday.  Laurel ran with her class first and did great!  She was one of the kids with the most endurance....she ran 5 laps around a half-mile track.  She is very internally competitive....she likes challenging herself as well as encouraging her friends.  It was fun to watch her run!  I ran one lap with her and she is quite quick!  Erika's class ran when Laurel's class was done.  She also ran 5 laps and did great!  Erika likes being involved in activities such as this, but she is much more interested in chatting with friends while running than the actual running part.  I walked one lap with her and she commented on various things the entire time.  My little social gal!  Laurel's class raised the most money of all the classes in her school so they are getting some sort of party in the next few weeks.

After school that day, the kids came home and helped carve pumpkins with Dad.  The drew the faces they wanted on the pumpkin (Levi had me help him draw) and then Matt cut them out.  This year, they actually dug most of the pumpkin guts out themselves so that was nice!  I think the jack o'lanterns turned out cute and scary!
