Last week, the girls had the opportunity to attend a one-day horse camp. I learned about it through their school.....a high school student was putting on this camp as part of her senior project. It was free, local, only for one day, and I thought the girls would love riding the horses so I signed them up! Laurel was quite nervous as the day got closer, but when the morning finally came to go, she was excited!
Boots and jeans...ready for horse camp!
Levi and I dropped the girls off at a beautiful home/ranch just outside of Newberg. There were four teenage girls, one mom, and three other "campers". The girls were in their element with the teenage girls...they love older friends! We said good-bye and Levi and I ran errands while the girls enjoyed the horses. I got an earful of stories when I picked them back up....they got to ride a horse named Calgary; they brushed and fed Calgary and learned to always touch the horses' backside to let them know you are there when behind a horse; they made a cute picture frame craft; they had snacks; and they ended the day swimming in the pool. They loved it and have asked if they can go back next year! The sweet teenage who was in charge sent me some pictures of the activities during the day.
