The last part of July, Newberg hosts a really fun carnival! There are carnival rides and games, parades, booths, dance troops performing....lots of fun! This year, the girls saved their money to help buy a ride bracelet....that way they could ride as many rides as they wanted in one day. And we definitely got our money's worth! We started the festival with Tunes on Tuesday.....an evening concert in the city center. The kids saw the Old Fashioned Festival princesses there and got their picture taken with them. Levi kept asking them if they were Elsa.
On Thursday, a local bank hosts a hot dog lunch for the community. Erika was at soccer camp so she couldn't go, but Levi and Laurel enjoyed the Cheetos and cookies....not so much the hot dog.
After soccer camp on Friday, we headed to the carnival part of the festival and let the kids ride rides for a few hours. Laurel was too short for some of the more dangerous rides, but Erika wasn't and she shocked me with how brave she was! She rode the ride that goes way up in the air and loved it! She went on it at least 4 times, I think.
Levi played a game and won a few prizes.
There's Erika...way up in the sky!
On Saturday, Sarah took us to the festival and bought more ride tickets for the kids as well as cotton candy and an elephant ear!
