We went to a really fun indoor play jungle today. It was really designed for older kids (probably 5 and older) but Erika still had a fun time....and I really enjoyed it! The jungle had two of Erika's favorite things....slides and something to jump on. She really liked watching the older kids run around and tried to follow them, but still needed Mommy's help with most of the jungle fun.

Erika has a habit of sticking her tongue out, especially if she is concentrating on something. It's cute, but she usually has it hanging out of her mouth when she is jumping or sliding or doing some kind of activity. I'm waiting for the day that she bites the tip off!

Laurel was too little for the fun, but she liked hanging out with Grandma and watching Erika play.

Bedtime Conversation

This is the conversation I had with Erika tonight after she climbed into bed. And after I went in once to give her a drink of juice. And after Matt went in once to give her a drink of milk.

Erika: Milk?
Me: No, you don't need any more milk.
Erika: Juice?
Me: No, you don't need any more juice.
Erika: Hug?

Isn't that sweet? Of course she can have a hug! I told her that I will always give her a hug, even if she's 15 and wants to climb on my lap for a hug, that would be okay.

Zoo

Taking advantage of a day off of work for Matt, we went to the zoo yesterday! After a fight with our GPS about the best route to take, we made it to the Portland zoo. We were blessed with a beautiful sunny, slightly warm, day. Erika loved having such a huge place to run around in and new things to see. She liked looking at the other visitors to the zoo a little more than she liked the animals, but Matt and I enjoyed it! Laurel slept through the entire trip....she doesn't even know that we went anywhere! The animals were enjoying the sunny day as well so they were active and alert. Erika did like the monkey exhibits....she was so cute making her monkey sounds at them! She also enjoyed the exhibits that had fish swimming at her level. It was a great day to walk around and let Erika run around and tire herself out for the day!

Big Girl

It's official....Erika is not my baby anymore! She slept in her twin sized bed today for her nap. We are trying to get her used to the idea of sleeping in it, and more importantly staying in bed until we come get her, as Laurel will soon need to sleep in the crib. Growing up is fun!

Laurel-Two Months

Laurel went in for her two month check up today. She is healthy and growing very well! She is now 23 inches and weighs 11 pounds, 12 ounces. At today's appointment, she also got shots. She did really well...only cried for about 2 seconds and then happily sucked on her binky.

Her new accomplishments are: she smiles all the time now. She loves looking at Erika and what she's doing. Her favorite time of day is when Daddy comes home. Laurel wants to talk so badly...she coos and "talks" all the time and contorts her mouth in such a way that it seems like she can't wait to make sounds.

We are very blessed with our little girls!

Beach

We went to Ocean Shores this weekend for Erika and Laurel's first beach trip. It was a lot of fun! We had decent weather...especially for the Washington coast in February....and really enjoyed spending time with our family. There were plenty of little kids for Erika to run around with and she loved the ocean! The wind didn't bother Erika, although Laurel was not real excited about being in it. Luckily, my grandma volunteered to watch Laurel in the condo while we played with Erika on the beach. She chased the waves, dug in the wet sand, and flew a kite. And, the crisp ocean air wore her out so she went to bed early tonight!
