August Happenings

We had a pretty busy August!  We got to spend some time in Lincoln City with Grandpa and Grandma Hammar.  It was fun staying right on the beach!

Our balcony

Dinner at a fantastic burger restaurant

Exploring the beach in our jammies.

And more exploring in our clothes!

The kids got to spend a day at Safari Sam's....an indoor playground....as a celebration party with their Sunday school class.

We hosted the kids' book club and the theme was Fairy Tales.  The kids dressed up as a character from their book.  Laurel's book was "The Snow Queen"; Levi's was "Puss in Boots"; and Erika's was "The Little Match Girl".

We got smoothies at Human Bean.

And helped pull weeds.

And did some painting projects for daddy's office and Aunt Sarah's playroom.

Movie Night

The kids hosted a playtime/dinner/movie night a few weeks back.  It was a very fun night and everyone got to stay up very late with their friends.....perfect for summers!

Laurel invited her friend, Kalia.  She invited another friend, Jessie, who showed up a little later.

Erika invited her friend, Helmi.

Levi invited his friend, Aunt Sarah.  She was the best friend to invite because she brought treats (Italian sodas) for her friend!

Happy pizza for dinner.

The girls made a fort village throughout the living room and dining room.

Then we watched Home while eating popcorn and various junk foods!

And played outside until the sun went down.  The girls then went home exhausted, sugared up, and happy.  It was a fun night for everyone!

Seaside

Last week, my mom and sister and I loaded up the kids in the car to escape the hot weather in town.  We drove to Seaside for the day and had a perfectly lovely Oregon coast day!  This was the first time the weather was warm enough for the kids to wear swimsuits....the wind wasn't making it feel colder than normal and the sun was brilliant.  The water was still quite chilly for me, but the kids had a blast getting soaking wet and then rolling in the sand to cover themselves.

After spending the morning at the beach, we walked through town for our traditional pronto pups and Fultano's pizza lunch.

And some arcade time.

Then we went through the weirdo mirror display on our way to the ice cream shop.

And, finally, some shopping and a ride on the carousel.

It was an absolutely perfect summer day!!

Biker Kids

Matt bought a motorcycle so of course the kids begged to go riding on it.  Laurel asked Matt is he could pick her up from school one day on the motorcycle.  My little daredevils!
