Be Careful Little Mouth

I was doing Erika's hair this morning and Laurel was whining about something. Erika then told me, "That child is driving me NUTS!!!"

I guess I better watch what I say in front of her!

A Girl And Her Dog

Laurel loves Wyatt. Much more so than Erika did at her age. I'm not sure if the feelings are mutual, but he at least tolerates her!

"Please get her away from me."

"Oh good, two girls hugging me."
Laurel especially enjoys sitting on him.

Fairies

On Saturday, Matt's parents and sister and brother-in-law came for a visit. We had a really fun time! One of the highlights was the girls getting Easter presents from their family. They got really cute matching summer outfits, stuffed bunnies, and treats from their Grandpa and Grandma Hammar. They also received fairy wands and Laurel got a new pair of fairy wings from their Uncle Josh and Auntie Beth. For Christmas, Auntie Beth and Uncle Josh bought Erika a pair of purple fairy wings. Well, Laurel liked wearing the wings just as much as Erika did so she finally got her own pair this weekend! They loved them! It is fun having two adorable little fairies running around the house.

"Did Jesus Find Easter Eggs?"

Erika and Laurel really enjoyed their Easter celebrations this year. As we were eating dinner last night, Erika asked if Jesus also got to find Easter eggs. What a cutie! We told her that he might have looked for something, but probably not Easter eggs.

We started off Easter weekend with an egg hunt at our church. Since we live in Oregon, the land of rain, we held the egg hunt inside, which was a good thing since it was pouring rain most of the morning! I was fortunate to help plan and organize the egg hunt this year, so it was a lot of fun. And, it was very well organized, if I do say so myself!

Laurel wasn't quite sure she like finding the eggs. But, she did like the Teddy Grahams that were inside.
Erika was much more excited about finding eggs. The eggs weren't so much hidden, as just placed along the walls.
Seconds after she dumped the contents of her basket. She was so cute frantically picking up her precious eggs before someone else got to them!
Lots of eggs!
Not sure what was mystifying to them.
Easter morning getting ready to find the eggs in our house.
Laurel was much happier to find eggs on Sunday....especially since they had marshmallows in them!
Erika took a break from finding eggs to call all her grandparents and aunts and uncles to tell them happy Easter.
More marshmallows? Score!
Erika enjoyed her breakfast of jelly beans.
Laurel did not want her picture taken. At all. Or maybe she just didn't want her sister touching her.
So cute in her Easter dress! We got the girls little Snow White and Cinderella figures and they wouldn't part with them at all yesterday.
Erika looking lovely in her new dress from Grandma Parnell with her new bunny from Grandpa and Grandma Hammar and her Cinderella.
Dancing in their new dresses.
The girls had to try out their new shoes and how they sounded on hard surfaces. So cute!

Egg Decorating and Birthday

We decorated eggs with the girls the other night. It was the first time doing that for both of them and they loved it! They were more interested in holding the eggs than actually dyeing them, but they both loved looking at the finished product.

Deciding which stickers to put on the eggs.

Laurel can't wait to get started!

I put them in some of my running t-shirts so they wouldn't ruin their clothes. We had to use a ton of clips to keep the shirts on their little bodies.

More egg decorating decisions.

Erika thought the process took a little too long.

They both chose their favorite color to dye.....blue for Erika and purple for Laurel.

Hooray for eggs!

I also celebrated my 30th birthday yesterday. It was a really fun day with lunch with my girlfriends and their kids at McDonald's.....the best place to have your children entertained while you and your friends talk. We had a family dinner and home with a beautiful, yummy cake that Matt bought for me. It was a fun, relaxing, wonderful day! My mom was in town so she took over taking care of the girls for me for the day.....the best present ever!
Erika and I laughing over the fact that she just "burped on the birthday cake!"

And our final Hammar family update....Wyatt got bit by some mystery bug (probably a spider) on Wednesday. His eyes and muzzle swelled up very painful looking. He has had that happen to him before, so we knew just to give him some benadryl and let the medicine run its course. He was swollen for about a day, but not in too much pain. He's all better now, but this is swollen Wyatt!
