Snow Day

We had a snow day today! This was Laurel's first time playing in the snow since we didn't have any significant snow to speak of last year. Erika had played in the snow in previous years and told her little sister all about it before we went outside! By the way, do you know how long it takes to dress 3 little people and one adult to go play in the snow? I do. 35 minutes. Almost as long as it took us to play in the snow.

Getting ready to play. Levi's little outfit reminds me of something Pa Ingalls might wear to bed.

In their snow gear.

Erika's angel.

Levi didn't like the sun in his face, or the snow for that matter.

Laurel doesn't quite have the concept of making a snow angel down, but she loved to lay in the snow.

All tuckered out from the excitement!

The Good and the Bad

The Good.....

I love when babies start to belly laugh! Is there anything more precious?

The Bad

Please note: Laurel is not bad, just her nice shiner! She got in a fight with the coffee table and it won! Poor little girl!

Hammar Health

We'll start with the good news!
Levi went in to the doctor for his two month check up yesterday. He is a happy, healthy, well-growing baby! He weighs 12 pounds 14 ounces (70%) and is 24 3/4 inches (86%). While the doctor was checking him, he was smiling and giggling at her. I like presenting happy babies to the doctor.....they have to deal with unhappy kids so often when they are sick that I think it makes their day to see a happy one! Levi does tend to favor turning his head in just one direction. The doctor said he has a tight muscle from his ear to his chest. He is going in to see the physical therapist to do some exercises to stretch that muscle. The nice thing about him being so young and flexible is that the muscle should stretch easily and then he will have full range of motion in his neck. Please pray that Matt and I do his exercises correctly and he is not in (too much) pain during the therapy.
On the more yucky side of our family health, Erika is going through her second round of the flu. She got a bug about 4 or 5 weeks ago and then yesterday afternoon, she seemed to have another bug. At first I thought she was just sick from all the sugar she had on Monday, but then she couldn't even keep water down so I think it might be the flu. She seems MUCH better this morning, however, so I'm praying that we are through the worst part of it. Please pray for her health.
I also need prayers for health. On Friday, I went to the doctor and he told me that I have an ulcer and gave me medication to heal it. I feel fine now, but I have occasional days where the pain is unbearable! Please just pray that I continue to feel great and heal well.
No news about Matt and Laurel's health.....they seem to be fine!

Valentines Day

Happy Valentines Day!
The kids got Valentines from their Secret Admirer (Daddy) when they woke up this morning. Erika and Laurel received a princess bag filled with candy, bracelets, and a pair of sunglasses. Levi got a football and a Hot Wheel. I can't believe Matt Hammar's son is 10 weeks old and this is his first football!

Posing with their presents.

I'm not sure I like this here ball.

Maybe if I try eating it.....

Ok, you got me.....I like it!

Showing off their new sunglasses. Check out Erika's awesome pose!

The girls hosted a Valentines Day party for some of their friends. They made photo frames out of foam board, decorated Valentines Day cookies, ate heart shaped sandwiches, and played. It was a lot of fun.......and a lot of sugar!
Decorating their photo frames.

After eating most of the frosting, Erika decided to spread a little on her cookie.

Evergreen Museum

On Saturday, we took the kids to the Evergreen Air and Space Museum in McMinnville. I think the person who enjoyed the experience the most was Matt, but the girls did really well in a museum that wasn't necessarily for kids. Levi slept the entire time so I don't think he got much out of it.
One of the highlights for Erika and Laurel was the fact that the museum had all these airplane seats throughout for you to rest. Much of our time was spent buckling and unbuckling the airplane seat belts.

It was pretty neat to see all the airplanes they have on display. The most famous one in the bunch is the Spruce Goose. Huge and really neat to see how much work went into building it.

Perhaps the girls' favorite part of the museum experience was this little bi-plane ride. They loved it! Laurel looks like she might be scared right at first, but in the end she wanted to go again!

In the air museum, they had this kid-friendly interactive display. The girls got to sit in a helicopter, ride a bicycle to power a large wheel, and play on these little airplanes. Let's hope Laurel is not a pilot when she gets older as she is driving her plane backwards!

How we spent Daddy's birthday while he was at work:
