Kids Activities

The kids got to do some pretty fun activities in April.  Laurel and Levi were invited by some friends to attend their dance class.  It was so sweet....they learned a little routine in the hour they were there and then performed it for us at the end of the class.  Levi and his friend, Molly, were adorable dancing together!  I love seeing stocky Levi next to dainty little Molly.

I took the kids to a George Fox track meet.  They liked that there were so many different options of what to watch, but they didn't like the starting gun for the sprints.  When we left, they all determined they would like to run track.

Our annual school carnival was at the end of April.  Once again, the kids got to go up on a helicopter tour.  Aunt Sarah took them this time.  They love the ride, but I think they love hearing each other in the head sets even more!

Birthday Weekend

My birthday weekend was predicted to be absolutely beautiful weather so we took the kids to the beach for the weekend.  It was sunny and warm and beautiful.  We ended up at Pacific City where the kids and I tackled the big sand hill.  Matt and Erika had climbed it before.  It was really tough!  The kids made it look easy, but I was huffing and puffing when we got to the top.

Easter

We went to our church Easter egg hunt the Saturday before Easter where the kids came away with way too much candy and little toys.

Easter was gray and drizzly, but the kids were adorable!

Fun From a Hat

Over spring break, the kids got to don one of their favorite activities...Fun From a Hat Day!  They each got to write down three fun things they hoped to do and we did them one-by-one.

We started with Get Milkshakes

Go to the library

Squirt Whipped Cream In Our Mouths

Go to Taco Bell

Other non-photographed activities included go to the pet store, go to the park, go to Fred Meyer and get candy.  The final activity we did was go swimming.  And the special surprise for the kids was that we spent the night in a hotel with a swimming pool!  They loved it!

So it was a super fun day.  Unfortunately, Erika woke up the next morning sick so that wasn't so much fun.  But I'm glad we got all our fun squeezed into one day before she as too terribly sick.

Aunt Sarah's House

Here are some pictures from our temporary home with Aunt Sarah.

Laurel had a music concert with the rest of the Crater 1st graders.  She did an amazing job and I loved that you could see her and her giant sparkle bow!

One of the highlights was passing around strep throat.  Laurel was the first victim, then Sarah, Levi, and Matt.  Erika and I luckily stayed in the clear of any illness.  But there was a lot of hand washing and Lysol wipes used for a few weeks!

It was so beautiful and warm almost every day we were there.  Aunt Sarah bought chalk and a soccer ball and a playground ball for the kids to entertain themselves in the yard.  They also loved playing with their classmates and friends who live on her street.

Since there were so many helping hands, we did a lot of yard projects while we lived with her.  One big project was to get rid of a pond in her backyard.  The main reason was because it attracted very loud frogs at night.  We found several while digging up the pond.  They were smaller than I thought they would be for as loud as there were!

Cannon Beach Family Reunion

An hour after we packed up and moved the last box from our house, we headed to Cannon Beach for a Parnell family reunion.  It was actually a fun way to celebrate the sale of our house!

First, we stopped at the Tillamook Cheese Factory first for some cheese and ice cream.

It was a typical winter weekend at the beach.  But these Oregon girls loved it!

The best part of the weekend was seeing all our family members from Washington, Oregon, Montana and California.  The kids were so excited to see Molly and Ellie again!

Uncle Jacob bought a fun kite that Laurel liked flying with him.

This is our favorite family spot and has been for me for about 30 years.  It kind of feels like a second home to us and we absolutely love it!
