Emergency
It started out like every other Thursday night. Laurel was sleeping soundly and we had just put Erika to bed. About 15 minutes after Erika went to bed, we heard her start to cry, which is so not normal. Matt went in her room and she was almost in hysterics. He brought her out to the living room and we got her to calm down enough to hear her say that she had STUCK HER HAIR TIE UP HER NOSE. I tried to get her to blow it out, but she was not being rational. So, we laid her on the floor, I threw myself over her kicking and flailing little body, and Matt grabbed the wayward hair tie with tweezers. Luckily, he got it on the first try and didn't have to do much digging. As Erika was calming down from her experience, we asked her why she stuck a hair tie up her nose. She replied, "Maybe I was playing a game." We then informed her that we don't play games that involve sticking something up our nose. Nor do we stick something up our nose for any reason. I'm pretty sure she's not going to do that again. Perhaps Laurel will at some point.......

Nice job with the surgery, Dr. Matt. I'm glad this didn't require a trip to the real emergency room. A hair tie was probably a good way to learn this lesson, as oppose to, like, a marble, or a cheese curl, or a quarter.
Hopefully she'll pass this lesson on to her little sister without the need for a repeat of the tweezer operation...lol!
"Maybe I was playing a game." That's hilarious! I think I would have asked more questions about the game and its rules.
