We were lucky that Erika's spring break fell around the Easter holiday so we could vacation to my grandparents house in Yakima! We arrived Friday afternoon and Grandpa and Grandma had the eggs ready for the kids to color.
Grandma found a new way to dye eggs by wrapping them in silk ties then boiling them. After about a 10 to 15 minute boil, the silk design stays on the egg.....they are really pretty!
The kids really enjoyed coloring the eggs and then adding stickers once they were done
On Saturday morning, the kids and I visited Aunt Becky...who always spoils them with great gifts! We really lucked out with super sunny weather the entire weekend so there was a lot of outside playing.
Saturday night, my Grandma prepared a delicious Easter dinner for us. Don't be fooled by the pictures....the kids ate chicken nuggets because they refused to eat the ham that was prepared for everyone else!
After dinner, the kids hunted Easter eggs in Grandpa and Grandma's huge back yard. They loved it! The eggs that had coins inside were the biggest hit for them!
After the egg hunt, we celebrated my birthday with a bunny cake.
Easter Sunday, Matt and my grandpa woke up early to attend sunrise services at my grandparents church. My grandma and I stayed home with the kids because they got up about the time the service started. They received sidewalk chalk, chocolate bunnies, stickers, pens, Lego people and Spiderman shirts in their baskets.
My two handsome men on Easter Sunday.
We all went to services at the regular time and then there was an egg hunt after the services. The kids clearly have not seen the sun for a while.
Levi would rather have a hat than a basket.
Once the hunt began, the girls were a blur racing to get the eggs!
Thank you, Grandpa and Grandma, for a fun Easter holiday!
