The last weekend in June, we took a trip to the Great Wolf Lodge. Aunt Sarah and I took the girls for the second time, and it was Levi's first time to vacation here. I am still trying to recover from the exhaustion! The kids loved it...as did the adults. Erika and Laurel were tall enough this trip to ride the bigger slides with a grown up....those raft slides happen to be my favorite thing about the water park so I was so excited to have some little partners to ride with! Laurel liked the bigger water slides the best; Erika liked crossing the floating lily pads; and Levi loved just being in the water! He is a little fish! He couldn't ride the bigger water slides that you go down in in a raft, but there were two body slides that he kept going down...over and over and over! We also spent a lot of time in the wave pool and the little kid pool, which had two small water slides, a water "fort" and other sprinkler type posts and toys. Since we spent two nights at the hotel, we also got to explore some of the other fun activities offered, like the arcade, the ice cream parlor, the games in the lobby, and story time and dance party at night.
Laurel and Levi also did some exploring by themselves. On our trip down to the water park from the 8th floor where our hotel room was, those two little cuties got on the elevator by themselves and it closed before Sarah or I could get on with them. So I ran down the stairs, stopping at each floor to see when they would get off, and finally found them on the floor of the water park, waiting with a very nice woman who was kind enough to help my two lost children. Laurel was very upset and remorseful about the whole thing....Levi didn't even know there was a problem. Such a trusting little man who thinks his sisters will always take care of him! But, despite that brief moment of shear panic, we had a really fun vacation!
